Implementation of discrete event simulation on a manufacturing system optimization

Author:
Ivana Budinská Zoltán Balogh Ján Zelenka

The complexity of enterprise systems, the increasing needs for advanced collaboration among various systems within one institution or among many collaborating parties, and the velocity of organizational, policy, structural and market changes, presents nowadays challenges for the research community to develop more flexible and reliable technologies. Many real world manufacturing systems are too complex to be modeled analytically. Simulation based optimization is a very actual topic in discrete-event systems simulation.

A SIMULATION APPROACH TO PRODUCTION LINE BOTTLENECK ANALYSIS

Author:
Michal Leporis Zdenka Králová

The paper presents a comparison of several methods for production line bottleneck analysis using discrete event simulation approach and the simulation software WITNESS. An experimental environment has been created for processing and comparison of results obtained from the WITNESS simulation experiments. The advantages and constraints of the cited methods are discussed.

USING MULTIPLE FPGA IMPLEMENTED WATCHDOGS FOR IMPROVING OF EMBEDDED SYSTEMS RELIABILITY

Author:
Mária Pohronská Tibor Krajčovič

The paper deals with the problem of fault-tolerant embedded systems. To ensure the system’s fault tolerance, we use the multiple watchdog system that assigns a dedicated hardware watchdog timer to each of the concurrent processes. For sake of simplicity, effectiveness and adaptability, the watchdogs are implemented in the programmable hardware devices. This approach has several advantages and provides a method for implementing the reliable fault-tolerant embedded systems.

BUS PHYSICAL LAYER DIAGNOSTIC

Author:
Igor Bélai Peter Drahoš

Article deals with elimination of transmission problems using Fieldbus Tester for physical layer of PROFIBUS DP. For experiment was used Softing’s diagnostic tool PB-T3 and Profibus network with 16 stations. The special device, conection and method were prepared for simulation of transmission troubles. Results and experiences of this diagnostic method can be used for training of diagnostic experts.

PROPOSAL FOR DISTRIBUTED CONTROL SYSTEM OF FLEXIBLE PRODUCTION LINE

Author:
Ján Jadlovský Stanislav Laciňák Juraj Chovaňák Ján Ilkovič

This article describes principal advantages of Distributed Control System and its potential application in the control of a school model of flexible production line. Utilizing the features provided by this method of system control (advanced control and monitoring features, user-friendly graphical interfaces, alarm events management, historical databases, etc.) enables to create a fully automated technological production process that will be used in teaching process.

MODIFICATION OF NEIMARK D-PARTITION METHOD FOR DESIRED PHASE MARGIN

Author:
Jakub Osuský Vojtech Veselý

In this paper controller design method for SISO systems with performance specification in term of phase margin is presented. Mentioned method is a modification of Neimark D-partition method which ensure desired phase margin of open loop system instead of stability degree. The developed frequency domain design technique is graphical, interactive and insightful. Theoretical results are demonstrated on examples.
